well... during this economy downturn, i have been busy going for courses sent by my company n at the same time study on the system that i am taking care of in my company...
i work at a Big Japanese MNC in Singapore and my job is working at Facilities Engineering Department at a Facilities Engineer level...
my jobscope is:
A facilities engineering Department typically has hands-on responsibility for the employer's electrical engineering, maintenance, environmental, health, safety, energy, controls/instrumentation, civil engineering, and HVAC needs.
The need for expertise in these categories varies widely depending on whether the facility is, for example, a single-use site or a multi-use campus; whether it is an office, school, hospital, museum, processing/production plant, etc.
We also lias with different departments and vendors and contractors during our work...
We are like a Mini In-house PUB, NEA, Power Grid... Mainly we are the provider of Utilities and etc for productions and new productions setup or upgrades...
Mostly all of us are Diploma holders or degree holders...
Giving us the knowledge to solve problems and etc...
For me, i am going for my degree course soon, which if i m not wrong is next year...
as many of my colleagues are already taking degree courses and graduating soon...
so its my turn now to do it... and after 2 years plus working there, i find that i have learnt alot but still have alot more to learnt... n from my poing of view, engineering related jobs require many years of hands on experience and not as easy as wat some people seems it is...
well thats all folks, will update if there is any...
Best regards,
Yours sincerely, Larren
